Went to opening night of One Small Room a few weeks ago and the show was sensational. Only $15 for an incredible experience. Comedian Fiona Scott Norman opened and was followed by two burlesque performers, then another comedian and after interval was Jessi Lewis whose movement performance was outstanding and my favorite part of the show. The theatre space is literally one small room and seats about 30 people. i highly recommend it!
New owners have softened the decor and it looks more like a country food store. has pretty floral tableclothes. The raspberry and white chocolate muffin, I'm still dreaming about. Coffee was a bit bitter for my liking
Approximate cost: $10-$20
i have been coming here since i was a student 30 years ago. family run business. great food, great service and right near Grattan St
Approximate cost: $10-$20
This is a cafe run by a Spanish brother and sister, Diego and Fernandah. The coffee is mexican, slow roasted and it's sweet. You don't need sugar. It's soon become an artist's haven and i've met many students from the RMIT Melbourne college of Textiles as it's on their flight path. menu is simple but delicious, coffee is only $3 a cappucino and outside diego is growing vegies and strawberries.
Approximate cost: $5 $10
Can find some unexpected bargains here. Window needs to be more enticing. Friendly staff and clothes are at ok prices.
Fantastic coffee and muffins and really friendly staff. Food is great only criticism is was a bit cold sitting down as they kept the door open as the hail stones came down
Designer clothes at designer prices. Beautiful garments on display but the service is a bit ordinary. Could be more attentive.
Jade the receptionist is really friendly and puts you at ease. I saw the Irish dentist Muriel Mulghaire and she was kind and gentle.
Beautiful shop and friendly staff. A great selection of quality books and there is often an art exhibition happening upstairs
Fahima, the optometrist is great. She is friendly and understands if you are on a budget. Glasses are cheaper than elsewhere too.
