31/5/12 signed up and paid $500 deposit to install 3 KW Solar Panel system with True Value Solar. 14/11/12 cancelled installation and requested refund of $500 paid (some 24 weeks later) after multiple phone calls and emails, on my part, failed to see an installation date come to fruition. TVS refused to refund our deposit of $500 even though they failed installation commitment of 8 to 12 weeks. We decided to forfeit the $500 paid by us and chose to go with ANOTHER COMPANY. We figured we had endured incredibly bad service by TVS pre installation what chance did we have, service wise, post installation. We have now had a 3 KW Solar Panel system installed by ANOTHER COMPANY and time taken from quote stage to installation and feeding power into the grid was three weeks. I have nothing positive to say about True Value Solar, their phone etiquette and email responses leave a lot to be desired.

WARNING, WARNING, WARNING
In Early November 2011 I True Value Solar as the preferred supplier of a 10KW grid connected Solar Power System. I was required to pay a $10,000 deposit to secure the current special and was promised the system would be installed before Xmas. Well after hounding True Value Solar and actually requesting my deposit back and to cancel the order I finally had my system commissioned in Late February 2012. Things appeared to be OK so I let bygones be bygones. My first surprise was when I tried to get monitoring support for my system only to find out that the company that made the Inverters had gone out of business well before the system was even installed ergo no proper support for monitoring. I was assured that True Value would support the system as guaranteed. The next really bad experience I had was at the end of November when one of the two inverters went offline. I contacted True Value and was assured that someone would be out as soon as possible. Well its now the 18th of December and despite many phone calls and just as many assurances that we would be given priority and be contacted with information nothing has happened and the promises have come to nothing. I have now lost in excess of $150 worth of power generation and the bill is climbing. Today when I asked to speak to senior customer service personnel I was told that if I have any complaints that they have to be in writing and sent by post to True Value Solar. A fat lot of good that will do I'm sure and its not going to get my system back online any quicker. So if you have any expectations of quick installation or service forget these people they just don't react. And if this happens with a $25,000 installation what about all the smaller jobs????
Update 2-Jan-13
Still no sign of True Value Service personnel and told that "Warranty Dept." not back til 7-Jan-13. That will be 40 days scince the system was reported faulty and that is not even when they will attend my property much less determine the fault and fix it. And the lost revenue bill is now in excess of $375 and still climbing. True Value is in my opinion false advertising.

I had a 4.56kw system installed by True Value Solar, they handled everything from A to Z, friendly and professional installation which only took six hours, very happy with our experience with TVS Wangaratta.

5,000.00 installation. 16 panels and a 3 kw inverter. currently using x 1/3 more power from Synergy than ever before. Asked for a service call and was told i NEEDED TO KEEP A 5 DAY RECORD BEFORE THEY WOULD COME AND INSPECT INSTALLATION. Synergy happy to refund 4 months of misread usage as they are suspicious that installation was incorrect and meter reading output as input.

I ordered a system in January which was installed on April 11. I was advised from the onset that they would handle the paperwork for grid connection and that it would take several months for connection and Energex would contact me. They quoted my savings by buying the unit at that time etc. Well they installed the system before the approval was issued by Energex (in September). They did not lodge the Form 1003 as claimed they did In March? I had to followup to find it had not been done. As a result, Energex would not allow me grid connection at the .44c rate which was reduced to .8c as at 10 July 2012. I have since been advised that they could lodge the documents on line? Well that does not help me and has cost me approximately $400 per year in future power savings. If they handle the paperwork, why do they not follow the guidelines and why do they not follow through for the customer? Furthermore, when you ask them to contact you by phone to discuss your compliant, they don't. True Value Solar is one of the worst Australia companies I have dealt with for client service. Once they have your money and their carbon credits their care factor disappears. Thanks alot True Value Solar.

I suspect collusion between True Value Solar & power companies. My system was installed/inspected 13-12-13. My paperwork was held back 1 day - they actually eMailed it on New-years Day - must have sent it on a scheduled eMai - what can you do?. It starts out rotten and gets worse as the noses go into our troughs! Meanwhile the power cos. keep jacking up the prices - who's looking out for the consumer????

We had a 3kw inverter with 14 x 190Watt panels installed in March 2011 and we are very happy with the unit. The service from True Value Solar you could not fault, they handled all the paper work and supplied all the paper work when the job was finished. The electrician and installers were great, friendly and explaned everything. I could not fault one thing, highly recommended True Value solar.

System installed in 4.5 hours, professional installation, waiting for aurora to install smart meter so I can start exporting to the grid, should take two weeks will repost when I see the kwh going backwards. 16 panel 5.0 kw inverter 3.1 kw system may upgrade to full 5kw in future by adding more panels. I had solar panels installed on 14th March 2012 and am still waiting for them to be switched on! I would not recommend this company to anyone. The actual installation may be fantastic but how would I know? The hold up is the fact that they did not resubmit a form to Energex and now have the gall to be blaming them to me. Meanwhile the sun is shining and I'm still paying electricity 2 months later.

Approximate cost: $1492

Having decided that we need to cut our energy bill, I started looking for a reliable company to install solar panels at our property.
True Value Solar proved to be the best option for us, they explained us in detail the benefits, the outcome, how does it work and also installed the system on the roof of our house without us having to wait too long.
The team arrived in the morning, explained courteously what they were about to do and, on the completion of the work about 3 hours later, they cleaned the place after themselves, explained more to me how the inverter works and left.
Thank you, we are very glad we chose you, guys!
