We stayed here whilst visiting Melbourne over the last week. The perfect location, close to everything, so many restaurants and cafes and of course China Town, which was perfect for us. The tram stop was basically at our doorstop but we choose to use a taxi and hired a car. The staff were wonderful, very helpful, our rooms were spacious and cleaned daily. They also have a gym which our son used quite a bit, we enjoyed the fabulous heated pool on the 15th floor, it was great in the evening as it has huge windows with views of the city, very nice at nightime. We enjoyed room service a number of times and our meals arrived promptly, delivered with a friendly smile. I cannot fault this Hotel, they were perfect!

Fantastic location. Right in heart of China Town. Tram stop right outside. Walking distance to The Block and Little Collins Street and loads of shops.
Excellent customer service - staff are personable, friendly and helpful (offering suggestions on places to eat out, giving maps and directions, and greet you with a smile).
Hotel has a gym (small but functional and clean - 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, rowing machines, weight machines and free weights). Room was very clean and comfortable. Good bathroom products. Very comfortable bed. Room service. TV. Mini bar. Iron (and board) and hairdryer in room. Only slight downside was the walls aren't very soundproof and I could hear the person in the next room snoring, and the people on the opposite side talking.
SkyTransfer bus can be booked by hotel staff and stops right outside the hotel.
Close to Her Majesty's theatre - perfect if you're going to a show.

The Swanston is at the lower price range. It's basic but clean and has everything for an overnight stay but I wouldn't want to stay for longer. It's clean but very basic. The staff are lovely though

I was visiting Melbourne for the Formula One Grand Prix and had trouble finding a hotel at the reasonably priced. Fortunately I found just what I wanted and it was at a good price. Good size room, clean and happy environment.
