Have morning coffee here regularly with friends. Need to book as it is a popular haunt and need to leave before lunch time as table usually booked for lunch also. Good atmosphere and good coffee.

Had coffee here again with some friends. Needed to reserve a table as this coffee shop is so popular. It is very olde wordly and has great coffee and cake to accompany it. Looking forward to having lunch there in a couple of months time too.

went in with a friend and our toddlers for a coffee and sandwich at 12pm. The cafe had only one table of people. The service staff took one unfriendly look at us, asked us if we had a booking (which we did not) and advised us they were full. This cafe is NOT child friendly. I assume the staff do not like children, and based on previous experience with this owner at her previous cafe, I can safetly say this is not an invalid assumption. Sadly, I will not be giving this cafe a positive recommendation amongst our large group of friends with children who live locally.

What a great find! Just off the main road but easily accessible and good street parking. Old world charm reflected by the antique furniture and surroundings. Fits in with the heritage feel of Colonel Light Gardens perfectly. Great home style food and.. finally... a place that serves HOT coffee. Try the custard pyramid.. it's a winner! I will be back!

I decided to meet a friend here based on the previous review.

The teddy bears in the window having tea and the lace tablecloths made me feel the place was a bit ‘girly'.

The 50's style decor was very different to what is common.

The coffee had that slightly burnt taste that commercial roasted coffee often has. But it was pleasant and reasonably priced.

My friend had some pea and ham soup and he was delighted with what he got and what he paid.

The staff seemed pleasant and attentive without being intrusive.

A lovely place to sit and chat.

Only recently opened, but a wonderful surprise inside! Exceptional restoration with a most relaxing atmosphere in a quiet street location, free of passing traffic - a real 'taste of yesteryear'! Friendly, professional service, and superb home-made cakes with delightful coffee - well worth considering for High Teas or a special occasion!
