We know that it's a difficult decision to leave your furry friends in someone else's care when you go on holiday or when work commitments call. For that reason we've created an atmosphere to keep your cat secure, comfortable, and stimulated, for the times when you can't be there. Other boarding establishments feature small enclosures, have limited drop-off windows, and apply holiday surcharges. We don't. You'll find us here 7 days a week, ready to help you from car door to enclosure door.

 

All our staff are cat owners (well, we lovingly coexist with our feline masters!), and our experience in animal care is extensive. We also love to talk about what we have to offer! So call, email, or drop by for a visit. After all, you’re leaving someone very important with us. We understand that.

I first started with the Cat Motel about 6 years ago and am reluctant to send my cat anywhere else.

They are amazing. Anthony and his team are warm and friendly and puss never wants for ANYTHING.

Cuddles, one on one time and attention is dished out to each cat, according to its personality and needs.

My most recent trip saw Rigby there for 4 weeks, the longest we have ever been apart. The cat motel were absolutely sensitive to this, kept me at ease and it made my trip all that less stressful.

The set up is fantastic, with larger than industry standard housings, coupled with the relaxing atmosphere, high quality food and litter products.

I have a sneaking suspicion that she may like it better there than home.

There is no place better in Melbourne to leave your much loved Puss.

We have used the Cat Motel for many years and seen it grow as the result of the high levels of repeat business they achieve. Initially we selected it for it's good location, now I would be happy to drive much further just to receive the quality of facilities and care provided. I tried a few others a couple of years ago, and was horrified. One place refused to let me view the boarding cages and my cat returned home traumatized and smelling of lemon scented pray-cleaner (!). We rushed straight back to Cat Motel where you'll find true cat lovers.

Our two cats stayed over 3 weeks back in October. They were very accommodating with their fussy needs and even given them the overhead cat runner by request at no extra charge. On pick up they naturally miss us but seem healthy and happy. Highly recommend. Also very clean.

The accommodation looked good, enclosures are slightly larger in size than some other establishments, lots of places to perch and hide. Staff were mostly very sweet, 1 staff member seemed a tad frosty....I would use again as my cat came out after a longish stay seemingly happy and healthy. Be aware that you will need to provide your own meat or wet food, as they only provide (good quality) dry biscuits. Similar price ($20) to other catteries but they do charge per day or part-there-of, eg: overnight = $40.

We used the Cat Motel for 2 of our cats for a one week stay whilst we were overseas.

Positives:

-great facilities (and clean)

-staffed by stereotypical cat ladies (but friendly!)

-allowed us to help acclimatise our cats to their new home

-our cats didn't want to leave

Negatives:

-the cats had better accommodation then we did on our trip

Our family loves The Cat Motel - including our cat! We moved over from NZ in Feb and our (very scared and cowardly kitty) was checked in for 2 weeks while we set up home. Right from organising the booking via email, to visiting and checking on him while he was here, the staff were fantastic. We visited on the first day and it was clear he was in great hands. And within a few days was settled. He went back a few months later for a week and was so happy he didnt even cry when I left. Enclosures are huge, cats are cuddled and staff are lovely. Highly recommend it!!!

a big thank you to the special people at the cat motel. Dixie was there for 2 1/2 months, she was happy and loved by the staff. We relocated from overseas, it was so much easier knowing that she was well looked after. She is home with our family now and is thoroughly spoilt. Thanks again

I searched all over Melbourne and checked a lot of catteries, for the right place to leave my cats, before I found The (wonderful) Cat Motel. My two cats have stayed here numerous times now, over the last 5 years and I wouldn't leave them anywhere else! The premises are spotless and comfy, Anthony and his staff are just the best, the price is right and my cats always come home happy and healthy. I couldn't ask for a better place, or better hands, to leave my kitty kats in, while I'm away and I highly recommend The Cat Motel, to anyone who cares about where they should leave their cats.

They were great. My cats were settled better here than at other boarding place. I really felt like they offered that personal touch and took an interest in the cats as individuals.

I've tried other inner city catteries and outer boarding kennels/catteries - this place is the best.

The staff are so friendly and caring. The accommodation is spacious and offers both a socializing space as well as somewhere for the timid cat to hide.

There is no issue with seeing where your cat will be living - they actually take you, without asking, to their accommodation and let you help your cat settle in. They also take you to them on pick up - way less stressful for me and my cat.

Very impressed!
