Thanks Leigh. We're really putting an emphasis on service contracts this year. $250 per computer gets all labour unconditionally free on any one machine we've made (this is of course free for the first year). This includes remote support and any work needed at the workshop in Kurri Kurri. Better than paying for everything piecemeal.

i was actually ready to throw my computer...thanks to these guys..i have a brand new laptop...and can now get on with the work i do fulltime cheers guys,,u saved me from buying a new one

Thanks Carol. We've been through a few confusing problems together and got them all sorted. Computers can be confusing and the problems hard to describe, but with a little time and communication it all works out in the end.

Hi Simon. Personally, I hate doing hinge repairs, but Ben and Trevor (our top technicians) are fantastic at them. One of these days, I'll have to put up a little film of them doing it - it's so fiddly, but well worth it to save a good computer from the scrapheap.

Thanks, Chooch. Lovely to get a pat on the back. The lads work their heads off at the benches, often on six or seven computers at the same time and they still manage to be understanding. The key thing for us as computer experts is to remember that we know nearly nothing about anything else. Makes it easier to relate to our customers.

Thanks, Chris. I should get you to write something for our next leaflet drop! Yeah, we open long hours. With a bunch of kids, we have to work pretty hard to keep all the plates in the air (and on the table), but it is good to deal with so many decent folks.

Thanks, Christina. Business has been pretty hard over the last few years for all of us. Seen a lot of places go under. The most important thing for business is to get back to work as quickly as possible and we're right onto that priority.

Thanks, vz. Complicated software installations like yours take a bit of fixing sometimes, but we got there together in the end. It's good to engage the expertise of the customer in these situations and you certainly helped in providing decent error messages and information about the faults.

Hey Tony. Thanks for the writeup, mate. Yeah, we've done a lot of stuff for you. The way you use the computer and understand what you need made it easier for us to make things that were appropriate. It's been a lot of fun dealing with you over the years - since 2005 (would you believe?).

Hey Riley. Yeah, I got a little fuddled over the specifications of a brand new CPU there - completely my fault. Glad we picked it up quickly and sorted it out for you straight away. The games you play need that extra grunt.

Hi Deborah. Yeah, the remote service through Teamviewer certainly saves a lot of hassle for people who would otherwise have to bring the computer to the shop. It's been a real time saver for us, too - we can only work on 24 computers at a time in the workshop!

Thanks, Graham! We love stamping on viruses and remove several hundred a day, sometimes thousands. Little blighters get in despite the best security sometimes, due to out of date Flash, Acrobat Reader, Java and other background programs, which is why we recommend annual servicing during which we do the absolute lot.

Been a lot of fun working through your questions - you've got a knack for coming up with things I don't know, but we get there in the end. If there's one thing a computer technician needs to be good at, it's learning new things (hourly).
