I Had trouble with my Staffy showing fear of some people and howling when left alone. Sam easily assessed the causes and after a walk exposing her to various people and situations, she was much more at ease. It has been about 5 weeks and she is now settled and sleeps when I am away instead of being anxious. I am so glad I found take a paws.

We highly recommend Sam. We had a newborn and our family dog, Lucy was so excited to see our baby she would do this high pitch cry constantly. Sam managed to train her out of this and she has been well behaved since then. Highly highly recommend Sam!

A new 11 week Harrier puppy was a little more full on than expected. Sam took control immediately on entering - his confidence and experience was exactly what the family needed. Sam’s tips, strategies and constructive challenge of existing approaches armed Dad and the kids with what they needed. There are improvements every day as Sam’s advice is implemented and lots of puppy love! Highly recommended.

My Frenchie Edward was displaying really bad separation anxiety. Sam assessed the causes on the phone and quoted a reasonable cost for a home visit. He patiently explained what needed to be done and what to do from now on. We got immediate improvement and within a short time after we now have a happy independent pup. I am now recommending Sam to everyone I know with a dog.

Sam is amazing. Very knowledgeable and a real pleasure to work with. Our French bulldog pup Eddie simply adored him. He gave us great tips on how we can bring out the best in our little bundle of joy.

Sam came out on relatively short notice and made the process of training easy for my corgi George and myself. The instructions
were clear and easy to follow. It is more training me than George. My problem was barking at noises. I saw an immediate improvement that night and now 2 weeks later no more problem. Sam, I can't thank you enough.

I called 3 dog trainers I found on line. Sam was the only one that patiently asked relevant question and had immediate insight about the problems I was having with my puppy. His assessment was spot on and I booked him on the spot. He showed up on time and explained everything I needed to know. Was very attentive to Charlie. Most of the results were immediate (amazing), and a few issues needed my consistency and went away within days. I have recommended Sam to anyone that comments about how well behaved Charlie is.

Sam was a great help with our adopted 4 year old miniature schnauzer. When we took her on she had lived on a rural property her whole life, had never walked on a lead and was very nervous. Within two days of Sam's training both my husband and I could get her to walk on lead properly without her pulling or stopping every 20 seconds. We have followed his instructions and she is slowly becoming a more confident and happy dog. Sam's training was really hands on which I really appreciated. He was also really quick to respond to our follow questions. I recommend him highly.

They may be good dog trainers, but didn't help at all with our dog and was so busy telling us how good he was they didn't actually listen to us describe our dogs behaviour. Our dog has extreme anxiety issues. She's only 'naughty' when she's scared - and their techniques simply made her more scared. We called to use their 'unlimited phone support' because she was so scared of us she was running away, and their advice was to chain her to our bed at night. Not impressed. If you need to teach your dog to sit, stay etc then they may be for you. But if you have a dog with mental health issues then steer clear of them - you'll just waste your money and your time.

We called on Sam at Take A Paws, after attending puppy classes, which were a huge waste of time and money. After 3 or 4 weeks, our Puppy had learned nothing that we hadn't already taught him ourselves.

So we called on Sam, as we were having some potty training issues, and walking on the leash issues. having said that, our puppy was only about 3 months old, so it was all normal, but we just wanted the best life for him, and to train him right.

After only about 2 hours with Sam, ALL of our questions were solved! Sam is honestly the best investment we ever made, and at only a small $250, it was worth every single cent. Don't waste your time on puppy classes. as I found out in my own research, they don't need this, as they are born in a litter, and if breeded correctly, have spent a full 8 weeks with other puppies.

Seriously, you wonder what on Earth you could be taught, that you don't already know, but take our word for it....it is amazing what sam brings with him. It will be the best investment you ever made.
