This cosy little cafe at the end of the strip is a great place to catch up with your kids or friends. The service is always friendly and the food and coffee is excellent.

This cafe is just around the corner from my cousins house so we all went for a bit of treat as it was the first day of our holiday break here.

My cousins go here all the time and I can understand why. They deliver some excellent coffee, delicious food and have very friendly staff.

My girlfriend loved this cafe, she said she was in heaven with the cakes being so amazing, she'd never had better. I tried the pancake stack. Yummo! Not only do they have sweet treats but they also have a great range of savouries. Everything looked and tasted delicious. Enjoyed the coffee aswell.

As others have said here the cakes are unique and lovely. The muffins are so fresh and tasty I'm glad I don't live close by or I would need to join weight watchers. I'm very fussy about my cakes and I'm impressed. We have also found the staff to be friendly and willing to go out of their way to help.

Amazing friendly staff who will go out of their way to help you, and every breakfast there is cooked to perfection (I do mean EVERY and I do mean PERFECTION!)

They have truly unique and delicious cakes and savoury dishes. The mocha hazelnut shortbread biscuit ring and the flourless chocolate cake are great and the almond croissants are simply the BEST in Melbourne and very good value for money. You have to order them in advance though; just call them a couple of days before to place your order. The staff were very helpful and friendly each time we went there. Definitely a place to

This bakery has an amazing range of cakes and pastries that make your mouth water just by looking at them. Sadly, I find the service to be lacking. There is a female who works there that is quite surly. My little one knocked over a drink last time I was there, and the look I got was an eye roll. No assistance was forthcoming though, and I had to go up and ask for a cloth to wipe up the spill, which was met with more surliness. The highchair was dirty also. Such a shame, because the food is delicious, and there is a lack of cafes in the area that have high chairs.

I'm letting everyone out there know that Svak's sell outdoor pot cookers. Not only do they look unique, they are a great way to cook outdoors for your family and friends. I have been using the 15 litre cooker for years and love it, and so do my guests. I have cooked great stews and soups which I serve with yummy crusty bread. Fantastic !!!

We love going up there for the great cakes, good coffee and friendly service. Alex is always recomending something different and caters for everyone, kids, adults, those who have a gluten intolerance. Go, you will not be disappointed.

I agree with traceyv as we love travelling up Mt Dnadenong and stopping at Svaks for breakfast and I mean breakfast. Bacon, Eggs (anyway you like), fresh bread it is absolutely delicious. And then theres the cakes. My advice is listen to traceyv and go to Svaks.

Alex makes the best baked cheeses cake possibly in all of Melbourne. All his cakes and pastries are very special , extremely delicious. We loved Alex's cheese cake and flourless chocolate cake so much that he is making one of each for our wedding cake.

Hi there I hope you have given specific instructions on how you want your cake for your special day!!! I just had a cake made by them for my sons christening and it was a disaster!! They made my wedding cake back in 2001 and this is why I went back however my experience this time around was not so good!!

Alex has made us many cakes over the years from our daughters birthday to my managers retirement cakes. Those who taste his cakes cannot stop praising the taste or licking their lips. I wouldnt go anywhere else and travel from the CBD to The Basin because of his cakes.

What an amazing find, a great little cafe. The staff are very friendly and offer great service going the extra mile. Great for lunch or just a cuppa. For lunch we had pancake terrine (chef's own creation) and roast vegetable salad - very enjoyable and great value for money and very affordable. Very easy to spend a couple of hours. They have a great range of cakes which include flourless cakes. I am looking forward to my next visit.
