Whenever you see a menu in a Chinese restaurant that says "Beef with xxx sauce" and then another items that says "Beef with yyy sauce" and so on, you know you are not going to get authentic Chinese food.

But if you cleverly avoid those things along with things like Mongolian beef (that is not how Mongolians cook their beef in Mongolia) then this place is a real find.

Here are the things to go for. First of all, grab the clay pots. four seasons beans (which I can't find on the menu, because they are using cantonese names instead of Mandarin names) .
Talk to the staff and try and get something authentic and you will do all right.

I have been the this place many many times in the last ~5 years. The food has always been good, though not great, but I had a particularly bad experience about 2 years ago (the food was just really salty and disgusting that one time) and I had avoided it since. However, I have found that in the past year it has improved again with better consistency. In fact, I have been there several times in the last months as I have discovered they have a really good value meal deal -- $39.90 for two (but there's enough food to eat 4) OR $59.90 for 4 (but there's enough food to eat 6). The meal deal includes: soup, 2dishes (for 2) or 4 dishes (for 4), a plate of vegetables and rice! The dishes you can choose from range from soft shell crab (my favourite!) to fried noodles to Beef brisket pot. The serving size is HUGE. You will need to pack doggybag home trust me! The flavour is good, sometimes a little too salty, but for that price and portion size it's good value!

One of the more decent chinese restaurant in the midst of Sunnybank, the food is not unlike the other restaurants in the area, but the difference is that they have a bigger range of meals (and fancy drinks), and they do it well!
