Steve Vertigan recorded, mixed & mastered our (Lily & King's)debut EP last year. Although we were nightmare clients at times, Steve was always patient and attentive and ready to offer really insightful suggestions. Steve's knowledge of a huge range of musical genres and production techniques is a fantastic resource for any recording musician.

The tone quality Steve extracted from our instruments was beautiful, which is no easy feat as one of the instruments is an out-of-tune toy piano and another was cutlery.

We always felt completely comfortable at the studio and well looked-after (and his beverage and bickie selection is delicious). I have recently recommended him to some of my high-school students, mainly because of the relaxed atmosphere at the studio, and Steve's ability to turn any moment into a "teachable" one.

Steve is the good kind of perfectionist, the guy you want when you've got three-quarters of an idea and just want to make it sound complete!

Since recording the EP, our music has received a lot of airplay and has been picked up by local and international licensing agencies, all of whom comment of the high quality of the recording. We're now halfway through the recording of our full length album, and learning more about recording, arranging and production with every session.

Needing a recording studio for a wedding song I wrote, I stumbled across Soggy Dog via a Google search. Steve provided state-of-the-art equipment and top-notch engineering. I was blown away by his personal attention and professional detail. I quickly realized this wasn’t my project – but our project. My guitar-playing brother – over from the states – knows sound engineering, knows audio, knows the nitty gritty technical aspects and really respects others who do. His respect for Steve was limitless. We walked away so thankful we had the opportunity to record at Soggy Dog – and simply cannot thank Steve enough.

Ps. The song was a huge hit at the wedding…!

Session to record tracks and produce original song for brother's wedding ceremony. I traveled from USA to record this with my brother. Steve was very hospitable to us and provided a comfortable and relaxing environment for us to share our music. He was able to provide me with a choice of several acoustic guitars, I chose one with a beautiful sound that happened to be built by a friend. Microphone selection, equipment, and technique was masterful, as the audio quality experienced during recording, playback, and the finished product was outstanding. Definitely a highlight of my visit to Australia!

Steve is an amazing producer and very fun and easy to work with. Highly recommended! I recorded a 4 track solo cd with Steve and am stoked with the results. Steve is very commited to getting the best sound he can out of any artist. He also gave me tips on my writing and helped change a few parts of my songs to make them sound better.

I have a Neil Diamond tribute show were I tell Neil’s story and play acoustic renditions of his songs. The accompanying album ‘the songs of Neil Diamond’ was recorded at Soggy Dog Studios… Steve captured what I do brilliantly; he’s a great engineer and really knows what he’s doing. We had a good laugh – and got the job done efficiently, and in a fairy short window of time – what more can you ask?

I am I recording artist and have several big releases in the last 18 months.

I have done all of my vocal recordings with Steve at Soggy Dog, and will continue to do so for many many years to come!

It is an absolute pleasure to record here – the environment is very relaxed and comfortable, and Steve is a very experienced musician, with an amazing ear and great attention to detail.

He also has a wonderful ability to bring out the best in the musicians he works with, and the recording sessions are always loads of fun.

I highly recommend Soggy Dog Recording Studio to anyone looking for a highly professional and quality studio. Soggy Dog provides great value, and a very enjoyable experience.

We are currently recording a Country/Rock/Synth album at Soggy Dog. Our requirements are quite extensive as we generate midi tracks and wave files off site for inclusion in each song. We then record live bass, rhythm guitars and vocals in the studio. Steve manipulates all of these parts and formats to produce the final song.

The sessions with Steve have been professional and well organized. Steve is a highly skilled sound engineer with a friendly, relaxed manor that makes the recording experience enjoyable. We are very pleased with the high standard of work and the quality of the sound he produces.

Steve is also a capable and experoenced musician is his own right with a great ear for pich. We have used many of his suggestions on instrument selection and riffs on our tracks.

I recommend Soggy Dog recording studio to anyone looking for quality sound prouction that is cost effective and enjoyable.

I am a Singing teacher, and many of my students have recorded with Steve at Soggy Dog over many years. It is always a most valuable and positive experience. Steve is a wonderful musician himself, and he is always aiming to raise the bar higher. He gets the very best results possible for each person. He has a warm and friendly manner, which instantly puts people at ease. My students can hear their singing back in minute detail, which allows them to keep improving their sound and technique. Apart from being a wonderful achive for the future (and makes a great present), if you love to sing, it is also so much FUN to go to Steve's and record.

Steve Vertigan from Soggy Dog has been doing our end of year concert recording for the past six years. Recording singing students from the age of 3-18 years. His patience, care and input not only gives our students the confidence to take risks but allows them to experience how a professional recording is made from start to finish. The end result is nothing less than fantastic. Each year we get feedback from our most critical audience, the parents and it is always positive. Thanks, Steve.

We had to record two tracks at Soggy Dog Recording Studio, and I was still new to using a Recording studio but Steve helped me through the process and gave me a lot of great techniques that have helped me to develop my sound! Steve has a huge knowledge and understanding of music and is not limited to one genre. enjoyable atmosphere and I would definitely go back to Record in the future.
