This is the biggest outdoor and camping shop you'll find in Adelaide. Two stories of every conceivable product ou need and also those ou don't! I went in for some extendable toasting rods and the girl suggested the cheaper ones to be as good as the more upmarket ones.

Approximate cost: $35

Reasonable sale on recently. Got very warm jacket and incredibly light weight but very warm top for my daughter. Staff were not about on the floor too much and showed very little interest but at the checkout seemed nice enough.

did not like the guy that serviced us he was very rude. never will i ever recogmend any body to be served in such a manner. you would not even talk to your dog the way he spoke to me and my sister inlaw. my husband rang the head man told him what had happened but nothing was done he is still working there when he should be sweeping floors. the way he spoke to us. that where he should be. that is what alot of companies are missing these days is the customer service.

Rays is an excellent store, it has a huge range of everything outdoor & camping. Staff are usually friendly although as it is always busy its understandably quick service so no time for pleasantries.

Very rarely have stock advertised in catalogs.

Seem to actively participate in ghosting (offering specials that are not in stock) this has happened to me at least 4 times over 4 years.

Resulting in a wasted trip and fuel.

Parking is impossible.

Rays stocks a good range of outdoor apparel and equipment, though in some areas it does seem remarkably inadequate.
The clothing section of the store is difficult to maneuver through as it is so packed with stands. The staff are friendly and helpful when required.

Become a member of their club, and enjoy 20% off purchases. I have always found Rays outdoors to be friendly and helpful. Their upstairs section has some great bargains. I can recommend their two man tent.

My husband and I entered the store and went upstairs. Unable to find the beach shelter that we wanted my husband went downstairs to ask for assistance. I witnessed the door greeter be incredibly rude to him and not offer assistance. My husband then returned upstairs where we located another staff member who could not help us. My husband was annoyed and so we left the store. I then insisted on returning to the store because we knew that the store had the beach shelters we were after as we had just left the store on Main North Road and they had told us that the computer system said that there were 4 left at the city store. I entered the store and the same store greeter asked if they could help me. I explained what I wanted and they said that they could not come with me upstairs and could not get anyone else to help me. I told them this was poor customer service and that I knew the store had what I was after. The door greeter insisted that they could not come with me and tried to give me directions to where they might be located. However, when they said "right" they indicated left with their hand and I knew that the smaller ones upstairs were left (we had just been there) but we wanted the larger ones. I told them this and the door greeter got really rude. They told me that I had missed the sales and then they got even ruder telling me off for wearing my sunglasses inside. I was taken aback. I had just driven for 2 hours to get to the city and had forgotten to change my PRESCRIPTION sunglasses to normal glasses before entering the store. I cannot see very well without glasses. I told him this and he was slightly apologetic but I was horrified. I told him how rude he was and in the end with no offer of help I walked out. We ended up buying a beach shelter from Anaconda the next day! I don't know that I will ever set foot in that store again.

Approximate cost: $100.00
