Long haul flight via Qantas for the first time. Cabin crew were helpful and service was good. Food was ok but they kept running out of menu options. Disappointed with how cramped the seating was on the A380 economy. There shouldn't be a fee for choosing your seat in advance. Budget airline feel, so don't pay premium fares to fly with them.

I've flown Qantas domestically for business for a few years and have racked up a significant amount of Frequent Flyer Points. But try as I might I cannot seem to use them for flying with my family. We fly internationally to visit relatives in the US and Singapore at least twice a year.
In my extensive research, Qantas has the highest priced infant and toddler fares around and so even if I was to cash in points for myself for a round trip flight to Singapore I still end up paying about the same price for the whole family to travel as I would on another airline. However, if I was travelling with another airline I'd still have all my Qantas frequent flyer points (not that I can use them anyway).
I only fly Qantas because it is Company Policy to do so and they pay for it. But I really don't think there is value in the premium fares they charge for domestic flights when the only difference I see between Qantas and a budget airline is that the food cart that comes around with a drink (approx $3) and a scone (approx $4) or a bag of veggie chips (approx $2.50)
Qantas could have a lot of business from me (especially on their Sydney->Dallas route which I would fly at least once a year) if their fares and policies were more in line with the market. They don't even have to be cheaper, just comparable, rather than way outside of reasonable.
On the plus side, I have never had any reason to fault their ground staff, Qantas lounge staff or cabin crew which are very helpful and kind especially when I was doing weekly flights from Syd-Mel return all through my pregnancy. There was always someone to help me with my bags and make sure I had an easily accessible seat.

I used to fly with Qantas, but now i fly with jetstar. The service with qantas used to be somehting you'd pass onto others but i hadn't seen it for years. The prices soar expenentially and I don't find any different between jetstar, except i dont pay as much!

This "service" has deteriorated from the fantastic business it was two decades ago. The "rewards" have lost value dramatically long before the GFC. They have time limits and restrictions everywhere, so if you don't use them or claim you lose the points. Yet, we can never get the flight itineraries or dates we want when we try to claim. We cannot get seats together on the same flight! My daughter wanted all her points redeemed into gift cards and could only do $30 worth of gift voucher every quarter! My sister wanted to give me all her points but was not allowed to do so as points have to be transferred in multiples of 5,000. So she lost her points for not travelling with them again. What a scam the Qantas frequent flyer Program is. We now avoid Qantas when we can.

You know - good old Qantas. Every time I go with a budget airline I always vow to go back to Qantas. By the time you price in the cost of food on the plane and paying for baggage they are just as cheap as the budget ones. Their staff are always very professional and you don't seem to encounter the delays of other airlines.

I've been flying with Qantas for over 10 years now. I've had a few delays but I've always found the service and comfort of these planes to be one of the best. The seats are a bit larger than other companies and the individual entertainment screens are fantastic. The food is quite decent as well, of course the portions are never enough to fill anyone though.

I always travel with Qantas when I can, they always go over and above, the service is always friendly. I even had a cabin crew member go and get me a business class ice cream when he found out I could not eat the economy mango one on offer without me even asking!! They are always a pleasure to fly with.

I have only ever travel with Quatas and would only ever have put my children in their hands, I felt very comfortable doing this.
They would only ever hand my children over to some one with the ID I had told them to expect, my Brother when to pick them up one time as my parents couldn't make it to the airport, they were so nice to them and entertained them until my parents arrived. They did apologise but had been given instructions by the mother (me) to only hand them over to my parents.
Nice food, great fights attendants, things for the kids to do. Very happy with them
