This zoo was really nice - it had so much to offer in terms of animals to see, excellent variety. It was very big too such that we walked for a few hours in order to properly view all the animals. There was a play area for the children, which was very popular. I enjoyed seeing that there was drinking water available at multiple locations to refill our bottles on a hot day, also this is the first time I see ice cream vending machines. Parking was a bit confusing as it seemed that we had to pay for it as per the signs however when querying with the stuff, that is only applicable Monday to Friday and not on weekends. We really loved visiting Perth zoo and had a great family time. I would recommend an annual pass as visiting 3 times per year already allows for a saving with a pass.

A great day out. We have been here many times and it never gets boring. Gone are the days when you need to position your camera through the wire cages to get a good photo, as most of the animals are enclosed in natural settings. The nocturnal section is fascinating and the enclosures are all unique to the animal's natural environment. We had a scare once in the Australian section where a kangaroo got a bit snarly and kind of aggressive with my son. I have it all on video! Advice is, don't get too close to the kangaroos - you never know what mood they are in. All in all a good experience however. Bring your own food though if you are not keen on spending a fortune at the cafeteria!

Overall was a nice day and reasonably priced, however many animals looked so miserable (especially tigers) and some of the enclosures were empty. Was a little disappointed.

I love to go to the Perth Zoo Love the

I would ring ahead if you are going to see a certain animal as sometimes there maybe enclosures with no animals as they are being done up

You can spend a while walking around and then finding them empty

African Natural Safari Walk through is good

You can see so much more of the animals in a more natural look

The Reptile section is Awesome as well

Phone ahead the day before and find out what time the talks are for the animals if you don't want to miss them They have ones at the snakes about 10am but it may have changed or vary and they also do them at the elephants

A lot of people take a picnic lunch and have that there it always nice

They have bands on the lawns nights as well

You can get a year pass if you would go there

So many animals and the place is huge. Though, its a bit pricey: from entry to kiosk. But the kids love it, so its well worth it. If you get lost you can find an info booth and find your way from their.

Entry fee can be a bit pricey, but well worth it for a decent day out with the kids. Plenty of animals and enclosures and a decent kiosk to get lunch from, though again, a bit pricey. Plenty of things for the kids to do and a great atmosphere for families.

One of my favourite Zoo's! Its beautiful!! Open, fresh, full of animals and very well set up! beautiful wide open spaces for families to have picnic lunch and for the kids to run around!! The elephants are amazing! The atmosphere is lovely and full of excitement of the children running around. I especially love the 'scene to believe' photography place in the zoo. They take your photo and photoshop it to the back ground you want. They have a gift store which has heaps of beautiful things for young and old. Its a must do when in Perth :)

love going to the zoo so good for young and old. they do need a few more tables for resting at lunch time. great animal displays and i love the rain forrest. staff are friendly. not too keen on the fast food their so we bring our own. so many child hood memories there. can even remember the old horrible cages the animals were in. such a massive improvement from back in the day.

This is an excellent zoo.

The animal enclosures are well set out and designed for the comfort of the animals but also keeping in mind the viewing audience.

It is not a big zoo and the layout makes it easy to get around but you will still need to allow a full day to get the most from your visit.

Get there early or check out the zoo on the web as they have some excellent keeper talks and presentations with the animals.

i really enjoy the zoo. its peaseful and quite with animail noises. Staff are always smilling. I think most famliys with children would enjoy a stroll around the perth zoo. It only down side would be its seems a little small but that would be because of it location. Some of the trees there are amazing with how huge they are. So i say its a must see and i go there every year.
