I'm on disability pension and was worried about a rattling noise . Leon checked it out fixed the problem and didn't charge me . I am so incredibly greatfull. What goes around comes around so Leon will get all my business from now on . A trust worthy machanic strengthening community. How rare is that!

We liaised with Midland Tune and Service Centre with regard to the air conditioning on our 15 year old Falcon that had always been excellent, but that had suddenly stopped working. They advised that the car be leak tested. We paid for a "leak test" and were told that the system had no leaks, so re-gassing was recommended. We were not informed that the 30 minute leak test that they performed may not reveal a leak but that leak testing the system for a longer period may actually reveal a missed leak. The $259 re-gassing exercise was futile because within a short period of time the air conditioning was no longer working. 

Midland Tune and Service Centre happily offered to test for a leak, didn't inform us that cursory testing may not be reliable (or indicate that a longer testing period is possible), they advised us to re-gas the system at our own cost, then tried to tell us that the leak must have developed after re-gassing (i.e. not their problem). Communication was pathetic and I would not recommend their services to anyone.

When the vehicle was bought in to us, we inspected your vehicle air conditioning system and found the system 20% down on gas. We checked for leaks, after half an hour pressure testing, there were no leaks and we re-gassed the system. The Air conditioning operated well.
Six weeks later you returned the vehicle saying the air conditioning system was working ok but had now stopped working.
We checked the air-conditioning system and found the system had NO gas in it. We pressure tested the system and immediately found the evaporator was leaking. This service was free of charge.
As you realise the vehicle is 15 years old and there are many components to an air-conditioning system that can leak.
When an air conditioning system is re-gassed with new gas, the extra pressure can cause weak components to eventually start leaking when they were not leaking be-fore the re-gas.
We should not be held responsible for parts failing that are 15 years old.

Thank you for your reply, Dennis. We would have been delighted if you had provided thorough informed consent from the outset, including the risk of causing a leak by regassing a 15 year old car. Given that I was four months pregnant at the time, if you had been frank about the chance of either not detecting or causing a leak, we would never have consented to having the system regassed.

Back in November 2017, when we lodged a consumer complaint against you through the WA Department of Commerce, you refused to provide any form of refund for the service. To subsequently contact us to offer a refund, some five months after the event, purely to have us remove our online comments is inappropriate. Throughout this ordeal you have shown absolutely no concern for the health or wellbeing of our child. You are merely interested in the loss of business that might result from our comments. To avoid other consumers having an experience like ours, we feel strongly about leaving our comments posted online.

I've taken 3 cars to Dennis & the team over about 10 years and find the service to be consistently excellent. The prices are fair and they always check before fixing anything they find. The serviced vehicle always drives better and is washed & vacuumed.
