Very friendly service. Menu is standard good ol' style pub food. Great if you want a western pub style dinner in the city before you go out or after work and don't want to spend a fortune. Cheep beers and great summer lane way vibe.

Love the courtyard at the back especially in summer. Great value lunches, wraps, lasagne, other cafe style food. Pity is it is a bit crampy and can get busy.

Lanes Edge. has to be one of the best going. such a warm welcoming from the lovely bar staff, who, mind you are very friendly, and not to shabby on the eye!! I am yet to go to another place where i can chat with the waiters/waitresses about most things, thanks for the chat about the footy Paul!! And Aimee - that job, its yours!!

When you order an omlette you dont expect scrambled eggs with mushroom, ham & tomato thrown in.

We pre-rdered our meals by fax & confirmed by phone the day before, but were still waiting 50 minutes after arrival for 4 meals.

Upon speaking to the staff they conplained that another staff member was to blame, taking no responsibility as an establishement, also offering no compensation for their bad service.

Having previously experienced just as bad service once before, we thought it may have been a one off but clearly this establishment cannot cope with more than a table of 2 or 3.

Definately the worst group dining experience I have ever had. Would never go back

unfair comment unfortunately the preorder was not relayed to the chef until the group arrived, due to a human error. Even a 5 star park Hyatt with 5 chefs would have struggled serving out 20 completely off the menu dishes. We did advise this and suggested a simpler solution. If we had known there was a time frame we would have suggested a set menu. Anyway we sincerely apologized and offered complimentary coffee all round. Moving on lanes edge copes well with large bookings. We ensure people on a time frame pre order and all runs efficiently. Lanes edge has a great ambiance and all are made very welcomed by our friendly staff

Good cafe/restauant to visit -always friendly, good service and good food. Small venue but that is part of the charm. Would be good if the wine list could be extended though. Service is prompt and efficient, but not hovering.

Lanes Edge is a quaint little cafe situated at the top end of Bourke Street. You can sit inside or out - but I recommend outside in the cute courtyard (which is heated in winter time!). The food is great and very reasonably priced, and the service is very friendly. An overall enjoyable experience which I continue to return to again and again.
