Meat purchased on multiple occasions has been snap frozen, pork loins, and most recently scotch fillet steak, for the price I would expect meat to be fresh ad un frozen

Have been a customer for past 10 years plus, the new management have excelled all others, the shop layout, the variety of cuts and the very, very friendly staff are a pleasure to meet and greet each week.
The staff are ready to assist and advice and also to join in the conviviality of a joke especially when I try to spin up a "horsey ride"

We've been coming here for 20 years. The meat and service are great but I have a few small gripes: the old butchers table in the customer area must go. It seriously gets in the way. Plus the baskets of cheap pasta lower the tone. Next, the decor is faded, neglected and needs an update. And the extra products on sale like pasta and stock are the same as Napoli's next door. How about competing with Coles and not the wonderful local business next door. You guys should band together. I'm pointing out these things because I want to see it thrive.

Beautiful meat and amazing service - an old fashioned butcher that is delightful. The shop reminds me of my childhood.

What shopping for food should be. Quality produce sold by people who are enthusiastic and interested about their produce and who show an interest and advise on what you want to cook. The absolute antithesis to the soulless and anonymous Mac shopping experience at the mega supermarkets. It's an absolute imperative to support such local gems.

I've been coming into Hobsons Bay Old Style Butchers at least 2-3 times a week for the past 14 years since moving over to Newport.

The quality of the produce is outstanding. The service is always really friendly to the point that you feel like a 'friend' and not just a customer.

Price wise you pay for what you get, and I like to get really good quality - life's too short for gristle!

I come in here occasionally for things I just can't get at other places - really nice lamb shanks for example. Their meat is presented beautifully and always tender and best quality.

Prices are comparable to anywhere. But you do get what you pay for - a little more spent here is worth the compliments after you serve the meal.

Staff are always friendly, even when busy.

But THE BEST thing about them, no kidding - is the little coin operated horsey ride at their front door. It has been here for so many years, my teenage children rode on it as toddlers. I love that link to the past. I hope they never, ever get rid of it.
