Highly recommended. The stylists are simply amazing and super friendly. The best for men's haircuts in Sydney. I really enjoyed my experience in Hair Solution.

It's good to hear that there are more positive reviews for this business.

I went in for a small trim from my hair - which I do once every couple of months. I was pleased with the outcome - despite it being a relatively simple haircut. The staff seemed great, although the price was somewhat high for a 10 minute cut.

Probably the price is because of the location in the city.

I was a little worried as I wasnt familiar with the salon and had read a few bad reviews but was pleasently surprised when I arrived! The man who seems to be the owner was very friendly, offered me a coffee or a wine (or ANYTHING) and even took my jacket for me. I was very pleased at this point. We discussed what I wanted done and I was confident. Unfortunately the woman who ended up doing my hair was not evry friendly though. She seemed to know what she was doing but I felt like I was a massive inconvenience to her. Hardly said a word to me (and certainly no more words than she had to) the entire time she put my foils in my hair. After washing it and while cutting, she made the occasional comment but I did not get the impression she was happy. Lightened up a little up the end but I still felt a little unwelcome. I got a half head of foils, cut and blowdry and was quoted $140 on the phone and ended up only having to pay $120 which was good - and the owner came over and personally put two foils under my hair so it was like the colour on top when I put my hair up!

Overall, Im happy. Though I didnt leave feeling like my hair looked as different from when I walked in as it usually does when im leaving the hairdresser, I wont know if this is a bad thing until it has had the opportunito to fade.

Would go back here if the location makes sense at the time but my usual place of work means that I will probably go somewhere else on the way. Hope this helps! Give them a go, I say.

Approximate cost: $120

I agree that the owner is friendly. It's a shame that the lady who did your hair wasn't as friendly. Customer service should always include willingness to serve the customer.

I came here with a voucher for a cut, colour and blowdry for $69. The appointment started on time and finished within 90 minutes. I was politely offered water or tea upon being seated, and given some magazines. The first lady asked what I wanted to have done. I received exactly what I wanted with the colour (I got some red foils), and after asking for a trim with layers, I received that too. Each job (colour, wash, cut, blowdry) was done well (even though by different women), and I felt like I was in good hands. The staff were friendly and I wouldn't mind visiting again. I came on a day that wasn't so busy, and I didn't feel like anything was rushed. I walked out feeling satisfied and loved how one of the girls curled my hair a little after the blowdry. While waiting for the colour to set I had a TV to watch or magazines to read. My hair looks and feels great after the appointment.

They are now doing a Keratin treatment deal for $79. I'm not sure of the quality of this treatment, but judging by my past experience with this hair salon, it should be worthwhile.

My sister and I used vouchers and both enjoyed our hair cut/ foils/ and blow dry - the stylist Rosie did what we asked and offered advise also - we are totally happy with the experience.

I'm a bit confused as to whether this place is good or not because the reviews are so mixed. Although your review is reassuring, it is the only review you have done on this site and you are anonymous, which makes your review less trustworthy. Nevertheless, I will be trying this place and give my own honest review.

You're right, it actually is a decent place to come for a hair cut and other services. There was also another woman getting her hair cut and she was pleased as well.

I went to this place with a voucher too. The owner cursed and swore the whole time vowing he didn't want to be involved with vouchers. Only took part because they kept ringing him pressuring him to take part. Cut huge chunks out of my hair. A week later a woman at my work mentioned she had a different voucher for this place and it happened to her too. Uncomfortable, awful - could not wait to leave.

I've noticed that itgirl41 has been writing up some great reviews, all seeming quite genuine. I've seen mixed reviews about this place, many with very low trust ratio, with very few reviews. I'm not too sure what the service is really like, but those with greater trust and numerous reviews seem to carry more weight in their words.

Thanks for your support TooStronk.

Fortunately I didn't have such a bad experience with my voucher. It could have been a different hair dresser.

I went here three weeks before my wedding. This place now lays claim to being my worst hair colour experience ever.

Colouring took three different stages (they kept trying to correct) and when my scalp was burning, staff just giggled. I had to stand up and go around to the proprietor and ask for it to be washed out. You know when you start to realise how wrong something is? Well that was me, shaky but in disbelief at how bad the experience was and how blase staff were. Suffice to say I left before they got to the cut. I felt that the service was so bad, asking for a refund would have added insult to injury because I am sure the owner thinks he is doing a great job.

If you want a $5 barber, this is your place.

I bought an $80 'deal' and I had to go and pay $380 to fix the damage. $460 for a haircut/ colour OMG

Approximate cost: $460

I was asked to remove some comments - it really confirms my fear about bothering to ask for a refund. Time is invested in trying to censor critics of the business rather than address valid concerns. Not a great way to operate a business.

Thanks for the review. I'm really hesitant to come here because of your experience. I already bought a voucher too. I don't know whether to use it or just leave it.

Went on a 'cudo' voucher - I've since had my money refunded.
- The guy didn't seem to have good communication skills, he didn't ask me how I was, what I wanted what I was aiming for, no pictures no ideas. He asked 'pick a colour' from the chart - it's not a bloody nail salon. The ha applied the colour.
- I wasn't offered a drink or anything, only by the ';manager' or whomever when they rocked up for work about 930 (I was their first app). Although my voucher said wine tea etc...I mean a drink is generally offered!
- The voucher mentioned a keratin treatment - no such was given or offered, or an explanation of why not
- When it came to the cut - the voucher said' style cut with a senior stylist. He didn't know shit, he looked nervous. He didn't ask me what I want, I had to suggest I had pictures & ideas. I showed him & he didn't understand. My voucher was used because I had a formal dinner to go to so thought it would be a good idea....so I had plans for an updo. He ended up snipping here and there at my fringe, then left to go wash out the other girls colour. Then another lady came in to start her shift & he handed me over to her & i re-told what I was after. She snipped here and there for about 5 min and then spent 20 min blow drying & GHD-ing my hair - she used no protective product at all.
- As a result of lack of treatment & no protective product used for heat styling my hair went frizzy and dry at the ends by the next day and I had to buy another treatment pack for it.
- Colour started to wash out by the next day when I did the treatment, and every-time since I've washed it (it's been 6 days).
-On Saturday (3 days post-app) when I had my hair appointment for my updo I saw that patches of the colour had washed out at the back and was now a browny colour (from bright red)
- $30 voucher was supposed to be included, and was never offered and given when I handed over the certificate or when I asked 'is there anything else?' before I left...
I put a complaint into Cudo & have received my money back - I suggest any one else with similar issues does the same.

I would NOT recommend & would NEVER go there again.

Approximate cost: $69

So much like my experience.

lisant 25 Apr 2013

Wow, I'm so glad I didn't have the same type of experience when I came here. I was a bit scared of going, but fortunately i got a good result, even with a voucher.

Very nice and modern salon and the hair dresser knowing it was my first time there gave me a lot of options of how I wanted my hair which was nice (but being a typical guy, I didn't really mind either way!). Highly recommended!

Approximate cost: $25.00

Yes, I do like how they ask what I want, and they gave me suggestions too.

At Hair solutions I experienced one of the most professional and enjoyable haircuts I think I ever have before. The staff were incredibly friendly and I was offered a cup of coffee as soon as I walked through the door. There was a constantly upbeat atmosphere in the salon that I've never felt while getting my haircut before.
My stylist was Anna, and I will for sure be getting my hair cut by her again, she was fantastic. I hardly had to explain what I wanted and she got it spot on. Probably the best hair cut I have ever had.
Not only is the salon a great place to visit but it was terrifically good value, one of the best high standard hair salons in Sydney. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a decent haircut, at a friendly place, with great value and customer service.

Approximate cost: $145

This is a comfort to know. I'm trying this place in 2 months time.
