Streaky Bay oysters were great. Asked which prawns were the sweetest today and was recommended the Mooloolaba Large King Prawns. The prawns were very soggy, not sweet as suggested and quite a few stray prawn heads added to the weight and the cost. Disappointing. Very hit and miss when it comes to quality prawns there. Have been purchasing on and off as has been our local seafood shop for a few years. Prawns were approx $40/kg

We’ve bought the same order once a week for the last 3 weeks. 1/2 kilo Mooloolaba Tiger prawns and 1/2 dozen small rock oysters. First week the prawns were to die for. Awesome, we raved about them. Followed up the 2nd week with much anticipation BUT soggy and lacking flavour, inedible. Decided to give it another chance this evening, but soggy again, flakes away when peeling, heads falling off. Not happy, won’t be back, too much of a lottery.

After recently moving to The Gap, we were excited to discover a fresh seafood shop close by. The excitement didn't last long however - I've found it to be hit & miss to say the least. Our first purchase was pot scrubbed fresh mussels - as soon as we opened the vacuum sealed packet we could tell they were off due to the smell. Called them up the following day & were asked to bring them back but decided to take the hit on the money as we didn't want them in our esky or car, even after being frozen overnight!
Fresco's shop seems clean & the seafood appealing, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt when looking for green prawns. We purchase a kilo of their green king prawns which were absolutely delicious - very fresh & well worth the $$.
So we're thinking that maybe the mussel episode was just one of those random things - until my next experience when I purchased a largish filet of snapper which cost $20. Upon opening the packet we were surprised to find that the fish smelled unpleasant & didn't look at all fresh upon closer inspection. It definitely smelled like it was on the way out. So off I go the next day to return it, only to be told that there was nothing wrong with it. He did give me a refund but it was several dollars less that the other guy charged me the day before - mental note to always take receipts when they're offered.
Let me finish by saying that I've eaten A LOT of fish & seafood & also caught A LOT of fish & seafood myself over the years, so I know fresh/not fresh when I see it. I've given Fresco's 5 stars for their green prawns, but taken off 1 for the mussels, 1 for the fish & 1 for the attitude.

Great fish and chips but their service could do with some work, I seem to get unfriendly people too often. No chicken nuggets for kids.

Great fresh seafood, fantastic fish and chips and best hamburgers on the Northside. Service and advice are excellent.

Fresh seafood is fine, takeaway has been a disappointment to us on several occasions. It's a shame, because it's nice to have a nearby fish & chip shop.

Unfortunately, we have given these guys the benefit of the doubt several times. There's not much good to write about the fish and chips.

For a takeaway out in The Gab, It's moderately priced, but the quality was terrible. We had undercooked chips (still had a raw potato flavour), undercooked potato scallop, and the 2/6 calamari were like chewing rubber.

In my opinion, they should stick to the fresh seafood, because if this is the best they've got, then it won't last long anyway.

Good seafood but some unhappy staffs. Messed up with orders from customer before me and insisted she was right. Waiting for about 10 minutes, came my turn, asked me "Yes?" And when I asked to order chips she said "sorry we are closed and stop cooking at 7pm." Been a regular customer, have witnessed some crap service but thought I'd continue supporting local. After tonight, I am done. We are spoiled for choice with seafood here, you just lost a customer.

While I would agree they do great fish and chips, I must be the unluckiest customer they have. The last three times I've been there they have managed to stuff the order up. Twice things were missing from the order and one time they seemed to have completely forgotten it.

So while they do great fish and chips I can do without the aggravation of them getting the order wrong constantly. Sorry they lost me as a customer.

These guys really know their seafood! The salmon and smoked salmon are the best I've tasted, and the bay prawns are sweet as! While I catch my own reef fish, they are more than happy to source special orders like bonito.

A shop that not only sells fish but also does delicious takeaway fish and chips at reasonable prices. They do the best calamari rings!!! They always seem to be so busy so it's another sign that it's good. A little gem in the gap village.

Approximate cost: $12
