Why would I recommend this business ?
Because they are SIMPLY FANTASTIC !!!

My favourite sunglasses, bought in 2013, were disintegrating.

Last year the hinge of the right temple had broken off from the setting in the front frame. I had taken my broken sunglasses to an optometrist in WA who sent it to Frame Care Australia for repairs, without me knowing the name of the company at that time.
I was completely perplexed by the fact that it had been repaired - and looked as if new !
Happy customer !!!!

This year, having moved from WA to QLD myself, the same problem happened on the left side ( wear and tear ).
So, I contacted the optometrist in WA and got the name FRAME CARE AUSTRALIA.
When I looked at their website I liked the way they introduced each member of their team and I loved the idea that they came from all different backgrounds and had an amazing set of skills together.
I phoned them to find out how to get my favourite sunglasses to them. By Australian Post and two days later, when I wondered if they might have arrived. I got the phone call that they were fixed.

I AM SO HAPPY !!!
I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW GRATEFUL I AM TO THE TEAM OF FRAME CARE AUSTRALIA FOR SAVING MY FAVOURITE SUNGLASSES !!! TWICE !!!
SUPER SERVICE, EASY COMMUNICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERTISE TO DREAM OF !!!
THANKS A MILLION FOR YOUR HELP !!!

I have sent a pair of glasses to these fine folks twice for repairs in the past year or two. Outstanding service and the quality of repairs were excellent. I am about to send another pair in for some work that is required on an expensive pair of Japanese made Masunaga's. I would only trust a company with such a reputable business practice to work on them.

I read the review of the person who located this place and thought I'd give them a try. I was thinking maybe they would solder something back onto my broken frames (I have a bad habit of using one hand to take off my glasses - but do so in the middle of the frame) so I have many pairs that are have the left hand side of the frame broken. Anyway, after sending them off to Framecare, they came back within a week and I took them to my regular optical supplier who advised that the job was a very impressive job. He actually uses Frame Care (Thanks for letting me know after!!) but had never sent a pair that had a broken arm to them because he normally was able to find a way fix the arms by replacing them with a similar arm (One pair I sent up had the arm from another pair of glasses because I couldn't bear to part with the style which I cannot buy anymore). He now knows what the repair is like and said he would start sending them to Frame Care from now on! It's also nice to find a few candies in the box when they returned! So far so good, my friends could not pick the repair when I wear them and it's only when they looked inside the frame the repair can be seen!

I'm very happy and have sent a further three pairs for repair... As soon as I can find the other pairs...

Pricing is reasonable at around $75 for a spring hinge repair and a regular hinge around $55.

Speak with Per/Peter there and he is very patient and understanding!

** Tip to save a bit of money - send more than one pair for repair at a time and pay only one postage fee!

Approximate cost: $75

If you wear glasses of any type, this business could save you lots of money. They repair and refurbish ANYTHING to do with glasses and frames.

The odd lost screw can be done yourself if you can find it, but my husband accidently cracked the top of the frame itself making the lens able to fall out and damaged the nose piece. Now these glasses were not very old and no need to get tested for a new prescription but he was told this would be necessary as they didn't stock those type of frames any more and so the lenses couldn't be swapped.

Frame Care Australia to the rescue. They are based in Cairns but we're in Melbourne and all you do is send your glasses in a registered bag, wrapped in bubble wrap. They do the work on receipt and send back next day.

Postal address: P.O.Box 256, Westcourt 4870, Queensland

They repaired the break and replaced the missing part on my husband's metal frames. They look like new. The repair is very strong and practically invisible. Also do titanium welding, fix plastic frames, repaints and buffs, replacement parts etc

Their customer service was fabulous - prompt, polite, helpful and efficient. Repairs are guaranteed for different lengths of time depending on what is done.

I'm going to tell everyone I know who wears glasses about this place, they truly were excellent.

Approximate cost: $65 for our job

Absolutely brillant!! Funny enough today i took my mum to spec savers to get her glasses repaired, they were obliging and gave her another pair at a small cost. Next time mum accidentially breaks her glasses frame i shall send them to this business!
