Many Bakeries in Melbourne. However, this one stands out from the rest. Very big selection and most amazing croissants.. Great for breakfast, lunch and dinner..

We are lucky to live nearby, but I know people who come from across town on the weekends to this place. The croissants are light and buttery - not dense as the ones you could get at Brumbys (ugh) or elsewhere. If we have visitors, I like to get a cake from here - the macadamia and berry is nice. The quiches are quite delicious too and good option for takeaway dinner as they come in different sizes.

The Good:
Lovely, buttery croissants and pastries, great cakes and biscuits. Great place to get treats for yourself and the kids! Also, if you go there late in the day (say 5:45pm), they have a 2 for 1 deal - not widely advertised anymore on some pastries which cannot keep e.g croissants, fruit pastries etc.
The Bad:
Not open on Mondays, and usually closed for all January! On cold days, not a lot of space indoors (just one table) and only 2-3 tables outside.

Filou's is a bit too far away from my home for me to consider it my 'local' bakery, but I try to stop in whenever I can. The quiches and pies are great for an easy weekend lunch, and the sweets are delectable. The staff are cheerful and friendly, especially important when it's way too early in the morning and you're looking for that first sugar hit of the day.

The food from this little French bakery is fantastic. I've tried the pastries, bread, pies, slices and cakes. Everything is always very fresh and tasty. Because it is so popular there are often queues out the door so be prepared to wait a little.

Filou is a French bakery that sells absolutely delicious french pastries and cakes. The croissants, spinach slices and baguettes are so yummy. It provides a good option breakfast on the weekend.

Approx Cost:
6 per pastry
The Good:
The pastries are soo yummy and it's such an old fashioned and rustic shop.
The Bad:
It's a tiny place - only few tables outside. Therefore it's not ideal for winter days.
