Going through cancer is a terrible ordeal, however when you have a surgeon who is as caring, compassionate and understanding as Dr Yap it makes things just that much better. All doctors should have her bedside manner and sense of humour. Lyn was also a delight to deal with.

I first went to see Dr Nicole in Dec 2012 to diagnose a lump in my neck. During the first consultation, she explained the medical terms and procedures in a clear manner. After my second consultation, she scheduled me for a thyroid surgery within the next two weeks which really helped because the lump in my throat is 3cm wide. Before the surgery, she checked to see if I'm okay and after the surgery (which was around 9pm) she did the same thing which was really comforting.

After the surgery, I had to fly back overseas and Dr Nicole checked my wound before I left and gave me some advise on how to keep the scar minimal. I think she's done a really fantastic and professional job because everyone commented on how neat and small the scar on my neck is.

I had a pleasant experience, it was nice to be treated with respect & the procedure explained in language that I was able to understand.

I heard about Dr Yap through my GP and this website and the overwhelmingly positive responses are what encouraged me to have my bilateral breast reduction performed by her at the age of 20 in 2013.

Dr Yap showed a great deal of care and compassion and explained thoroughly the procedure/risks etc. As I was funding myself, I had my surgery booked just 11 days after my first appointment.

On the day of my surgery, I was the last on a long list of patients, so understandably there were a few hours extra of waiting. I went in at 9:30pm and the procedure was finished by around 1:45am (Dr Yap also removed a dermal anchor piercing from my right cheek).

My breasts are perfectly even and match my proportions perfectly (I went from a 12GG to a 12C = 1.2kg). Any anxiety I had about the procedure beforehand was completely assuaged by Dr Yap's professional and personable demeanour, not to mention the finished product!

The surgery itself cost around $6400, but I was able to get around $1300 back through Medicare. The anaesthetist was $1500. The hospital fees for St Vincent's East Melbourne were $5500 or so for 3 nights, but as I only stayed 2 I had $980 returned. In total after refunds the surgery cost around $11,120. Worth every cent! I cannot recommend Dr Yap highly enough.

In 2011 I had a bilateral breast reduction performed by Dr Yap. As i was only 20 years old at the time I was in two minds about having the surgery. Dr Yap explained the pro's and con's of surgery to me but above all I immediately felt so comfortable and knew I wanted her to perform the surgery. The surgery ended up taking around 4 hours and she explained to me after that it took so long because she felt my breasts weren't as even as the could be and fixed them up. After the surgery Dr Yap visited each day which, in combination with the amazing nursing staff at the Valley Hospital, meant my recovery was made as easy as possible. Post surgery I had regular appointments with Dr Yap and the only complication was a minor infection. It has now been almost 2 years since the surgery and there is almost no scarring visible. I cannot recommend Dr Nicole Yap enough, not only are her surgical skills impeccable (many GP's have commented on how impressive the breast reduction looks) her genuine caring nature truly made this the best decision I have made in my life.

I had a left breast reduction & removal of cancer from the right breast. Dr Nicole Yap spent a lot of time explaning everything from different options i could choose from, the pro`s and con`s from each option, pre surgery and after. She explained about the scaring and about the slight discomfort i would feel after surgery. She did a great job, I was amazed with the result. 7 months after surgery my scaring is not as visable as i thought they would be.

I had a breast reduction one year ago. Dr Yap spent a lot of time beforehand explaining the procedure, including the risks involved. Everyone I came across from Lyn, Dr Yap's assistant, to the nurses at the hospital, showed me nothing but respect and courtesy.

I had a very hard time immediately after the operation as the emotional turmoil of actually 'losing' a part of me, was not something I had counted on. Dr Yap and the nurses helped me work through my mixed feelings. Twelve months later I am very happy with the procedure and I am glad I had it done. I do have keloid scaring under the breast line but that is just my skin type unfortunately, and has nothing to do with Dr Yap's skill or expertise. I would highly recommend Dr Yap to anyone considering breast surgery. She is an extremely approachable and skilled professional.

Hi my is Anna I had breast operation seven months ago done by Nicole I have to say that I am very happy with the result,I had hardly no pain and was in hospital just over night which I thought that was very good, other doctors I went to told me that I was going to be out of action for about 8weeks I felt better within 4 weeks never felt better
