Very dissappointing!
Please consider another company and do not use this business! Post customer service is non-existent.
Great service at the quoting stage, but once the job is locked in, terrible customer service. Communication is very poor, no emails and very few phone calls were ever returned.
Our project scope consisted of three parts, the main new wardrobe, additional shelving for this new wardrobe and additional shelving for an existing wardrobe.
Our large new wardrobe was installed late last November 2017, finishes are satisfactory, but the additional shelves were missing. There is also a gap between the wardrobe and the brick wall on both sides that needed attention.
The additional shelves for our existing wardrobe were installed towards the end of the day; the workmanship was very poor; the shelves did not fit properly and the holes that were drilled – too large, all was done in a hurry. Shelves kept falling down. (Ultimately, my husband and I bought L-shaped steel brackets and secured all shelves ourselves.)
At the end of installation day, I was assured superior, post-customer service (as outlined on their web site) and that all would be completed in due course. Note, we had paid in full.
Since late November last year none of my emails have been acknowledged or responded to, and none of my many calls have ever been returned; no one has contacted me about outstanding project matters. The one time I did speak to the installer about delivery of outstanding delivery of shelves on a particular date, this did not happened.
Take note Elias, both remain unfinished and incomplete to date.

Thank you so much Designarobe for the fantastic work you did on my bedrooms I am extremely pleased that I made the choice to work with you. You have a great team of experts who helped me with the whole process from the design to final installation of the wardrobes The best part is that your team really took the time to understand my needs and ensure that I got what I wanted. Thanks again and keep up the great work!

I found them to be very friendly, helpful and professional. The product seems to be good quality & reasonably priced and I am happy with it. The doors were delayed one day, but they brought them the next day, and gave me two extra shelves (that I asked for after installation) for free. If doing again, I would just take extra care to measure my suit jackets etc to make sure there is enough hanging space as I wish it was a little higher. Also check how/where you will store shoes. Sounds like they can tailor exactly to your needs.

I had two wardrobes and a storage closet installed to replace old wardrobes. It was a great job with fantastic finish. The design consultant, office staff and installer were all really good. I had a couple of unforeseen problems that we found when demolishing the old wardrobes and Design A Robe were fantastic with making last minute adjustments. After the installation I had an issue with the hanging rod dipping in the middle and when I called the office they immediately organised an installer to come out and fix it. Nothing has been too much trouble and the quality of work is fantastic with custom built robes to fit my specific needs. I'd happily recommend them for wardrobes, linen and storage. Great job and a very friendly and professional team.

Where to start..

- We went with Design A Robe after being promised a 10 year warranty on the product and service – What a complete joke

- One installer came to install two mirror sliding door wardrobes when it was clearly a two man job

- He insisted on payment immediately after installation and so we paid cash before fully inspecting the wardrobes – Totaling approx. $2,000

- After he left we inspected both wardrobes:
Wardrobe 1: He didn’t put the centre divider of the wardrobe in the middle!! Not even close. It was so far off centre that we were unable to open the drawers because when the doors were pushed to the opposite side they were still blocking the drawers. Also, the doors are unlevel so when you try and close the door, it just rolls back away.

Wardrobe 2: The doors were way too big. When closed they overlapped each other by 10cm which meant when they were pushed to one side you couldn’t get the clothes out from behind them.

Both doors were terrible quality with the silicon rubber around the edge being faulty and looking terrible.

- Obviously we asked them to come back and fix these problems.
Wardrobe 1: He came back and moved the centre divider – This resulted in additional holes and damage to the inside of our wardrobe for which the installer refunded us $100.
Wardrobe 2: We needed new doors that actually fit – We told them we were unhappy with the quality of the first doors and that we would not be accepting this faulty product again. The installer came and installed the door and then left without telling us! So we couldn’t tell him that we were unhappy with it.

- We called and said we were unhappy with all of this, including the silicon rubber. They admitted that it was a faulty roll of silicon and that they had ordered a new one, they would therefore pick up our doors in a few weeks’ time and bring us new ones.

- The day before they were meant to come they got the office lady (who was very apologetic) to ring up and say that they believed the matter had been settled because they refunded $100! This was for the damage to the inside of our wardrobe because they didn’t put the divider in the centre. This was accepted before they had taken the second doors away so it was by no means compensation for that!

- They had already admitted that their product was faulty and that they would be replacing it – Which you would hope so when there was a 10 year guarantee!

- I asked for another member of staff to call me back which they did not. I waited a week and then sent an email saying I would be taking this up with the Department of Fair Trading if they would not resolve this issue.

- The sales lady then called and spoke to my husband to say that they would not be honouring their guarantee and that was it. My husband asked to speak to another staff member but after the sales lady tried to transfer him she came on the phone to say that they refused to speak to him because he had been rude to his installer! We have been nothing but polite and patient this whole time, through all these issues and constant following up which has been going on for months. It is completely outrageous that he would accuse us of being rude to his installer and refuse to ever talk to us – not once throughout this whole ordeal!!

Obviously we are now taking this up with the Department of Fair Trading as they have blatantly delivered a faulty product and refused to honour their 10 year guarantee. We can show pictures of their terrible product to anyone who was considering using this company, please contact me and I will send you the pictures of all the faults I have mentioned. This is the first review I have ever bothered typing because I cannot believe how poor their product is and how badly they have treated us. I’m hoping to save at least one person from the same distress, and financial and time waste that we have been put through. We have renovated three homes and dealt with dozens of trades, this is by far the worst and most incompetent company in all our dealings.

I am extremely happy with the two wardrobes I had installed by Design A Robe. The staff in the Showroom gave me a good understanding of the options available and how I could be flexible in designing for my needs. Elias who visited my apartment to give a free quote listened to my specific needs and drew a design from what I told him and gave me a quote on the spot. The company contacted me with the installation date and time and they delivered as scheduled and installed in one day after removing the existing wardrobe and disposing of the materials all inclusive of the quoted price. The installers supervised by James took great care with their work and gave attention to the fine details of trimmings as well. Good follow-up service with adjustments to two drawers. I confidently recommend this company for quality of product, value for money and delivering according to my needs.

The whole process from quote to installation was smooth and efficient. What a professional, courteous company to deal with. The wardrobes are exactly what we were after. The contractors did an excellent job. Have used them previously and will definitely use them again. Highly recommended.

We engaged Designarobe to remove an old built in robe and install a new robe of 3.5 metres and floor to ceiling as well as new smaller robe in spare room.

In short, good design, good quality, good installer and very friendly and efficient service well managed.

Elias was at pains to make sure we understood the procedures and even pointed out where some damage to cornices could occur - it didn't!

Everything happened when it was meant to.

Recently had Elias and his team out to fit my 3 bedroom house with custom built-in wardrobes. From sales, accounts through to installation the team were very professional, friendly and easy to deal with and the built-in's are amazing and all at a reasonable price.

To share my experience with you, I had my wardrobes installed on the Friday. The following day I had carpet layers install new carpet to the bedrooms during which one of the carpet installers damaged the bottom track of the master bedroom built-in. Phoned Design-A-Robe on the Monday and within a week they had supplied and fitted a new one FREE charge!

In short, if you want something cheap and nasty with no customer service then look elsewhere. The team at Design-A-Robe were fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone.
