Simply put, tasty food for fabulous price. The food ranges around $4 to $6 and they are great. They have also opened another one around Murray St, Perth, but this is the first place where we tasted the delicious spicy chicken rice and golden garlic roast chicken. Definitely worth it!

This is a great spot to go to go for some seriously cheap food. They have a little meat, veg and rice (in a variety of ways) for under $10. As you may have guessed this is not a 5 star dining experience. It is a pit stop for a decent feed, fast.

This is a great place to come if you are after cheap food. Most of the dishes are under $5 and there's a good variety of different flavours of asian food. Good value for $5 - the food is tasty and there's a generous serving of rice to fill you up. I love drenching my container with the sauces provided at the shop - definitely gives the rice more flavour. I frequently go there for the bellissimo chicken. There is often a long queue during lunch time, but it moves fairly quickly so don't let that deter you.

Approximate cost: $4.50

Chilliz (formerly known as the Student cafe) is the best kept secret in Perth. It is a simple place with great food at a great price. It is primarily designed for students and is normally packed to the rafters around lunch time. The meals cost between $4 to $6 per person and the curry puffs and spring rolls can not be matched. I normally get the honey chicken and fried rice with 1 spring roll and 1 curry puff. A dish is big enough to share between 2 as long as you each have a curry puff and spring roll. If you are in a hurry be ware that you may need to line up for a while during peak periods, and don't expect to get a seat

Approximate cost: $5

Run of the mill chicken rice and noodles for a crazy $3.50. Tastes great, absolutely affordable, probably the best option for the tight budgeted uni student as it's located 2 minutes from UWA.

Approximate cost: $3.50
