I tried Airbnb.com for the first time last summer to book places to stay in Adelaide, and also in Sydney. Both experiences were great. In Adelaide we stayed with a lovely couple in Wayville, which was close enough to the city to walk 30 minutes or cycle 10 minutes to get into the city. The booking experience was very simple, with prices and photos being easily accessed. I would use this service again for future holidays. It's a very smart concept.

I recently booked and paid for our first ever AirBnB place for January next year and found out after I paid that if I applied a code I would have had a discount for my first ever use. I asked Airbnb about this as I was not familiar with booking on the system but they refused to allow me to use it or apply it on our next stay. Very disappointed.

I have stayed at many airbnb homes, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, San Fransisco and even New York City which the harbingers of doom and destruction try to scare you away from. You have to be wary of course (ask lots of questions, especially if there are no reviews) but I have found that what I saw, I got, and plenty more besides. Very reasonable prices, hosts have been very welcoming (even shared dinner at one place) and knowledgeable and much nicer than an impersonal, and often of dubious cleanliness, hotels or motels. Airbnb is my first line of enquiry when I need to find accomodation.

I like the more personal aspect of it too, getting to know the people in the community a bit better.

Have stayed with 3 places on Air Bnb. Excellent experiences every time. Polite, helpful people offering a room in their houses close to where I needed to be. The only hotel offering for miles was $250 a night, my air bnb apartment was $100 for a very generous appartment with kitchen. A safe and far more interesting way to travel. Loved it and highly recommend

I find Airbnb to be a cheaper option, but just as good of an experience as a hotel (just different).

Hi, We have now stayed at 2 different airbnbs and would reccommend them for accommodation. The first was at Redlands QLD ( S/C granny style unit) and then at Canberra ACT (Own bedroom share in house). Both times the hosts were there to greet you and you felt as though it was a home away from home not like a hotel (impersonal). The pricare way below hotels and you have everything on hand .We did a 3night(Redlands) & 5night(Canberra).We are in the process of booking accommodation again for our next travel. The accommodation is worldwide .

Approximate cost: $70 -$200
