Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re coming from the south, the town can be reached from the Bruce Highway via Gympie or along the beach by 4WD from Noosa. If you’re travelling from the north, it can be reached from the Bruce Highway via Gympie or via Maryborough, or from Hervey Bay via Maryborough down the inland forest road.

We’re lucky to have beautiful warm weather suitable for swimming from November through to April. Swimming isn’t the only thing to do in Rainbow Beach though. Those “in between” seasons of spring and autumn make for the perfect fishing weather while bird watching is amazing all year-round.

If you’re hailing from down south, you may find our South East Queensland winter the perfect temperature for your trip.

You can if you like, but there’s no need to! Our holiday village is just a stone’s throw from cafes, restaurants and supermarkets, so you’ll have easy access to a range of great food options throughout your stay.

Absolutely! Next door to our holiday village is a nearby park that includes playgrounds, skateparks, and plenty of room to run around. Our village keeps a really family-friendly atmosphere too — which is perfect for whole family getaways.

Each of our villas and chalets come with a fully equipped kitchen and our camping sites offer shared BBQ areas.

Our park has wide sealed roads, concrete pads, and ample space for all sized vehicles, including RVs and towed vans. If you’re worried about your caravan fitting, give our team a call and we’ll be able to help.

Our destination has been adored by families for more than four decades.

The perfect holiday spot needs to be peaceful, stunning, and for many of us, family-friendly. At Rainbow Beach Holiday Village, we’ve perfected the balance of all three.

Parents can enjoy plenty of time soaking up the sun and lazing on the beach — and there’s plenty around for kids to do, too. The playgrounds, skateparks, and kilometres of sand all around work to create a child’s paradise. All of that is just a short walk from our village!

Apart from our beautiful onsite pool, Rainbow Beach also has a 25 metre pool for more serious swimmers. This is a short walk away and includes a Gym at the same location.

There's so much to do around Rainbow Beach

4WDing can be enjoyed all year round, with Rainbow Beach providing pristine conditions across each season.
Fraser Island is best enjoyed in spring when the days are nice and warm, perfect for beach trips and swimming adventures. Summer offers perfect temperatures on the island however, Fraser Island does experience a wet season from January through March.
The Coloured Sands are just as stunning whether you visit mid-winter or mid-summer. We recommend visiting during low-tide times though.
Visiting the lighthouse can be done all-year round, however, in the cooler months, migrating humpback whales might be seen from the high vantage point.
