The Williamstown RSL Bistro offers an excellent buffet style cavery on Sundays, which although i thought was quite expensive per head, the quality and taste of the food was top notch. Overall, we had a pleasant meal and the service was friendly.
The Mildura RSL Wirraway Bistro offers fantastic quality food, with great value. Service is prompt, even though we has a larger group and arrived after 7.30pm, and the meals are delicious. Would happily go again.
Great service here. Nothing was of too much trouble. Stayed here on a business trip once and had a pleasant evening. Everything is neat and tidy, and the pillows are comfortable.
A Minor Place, in my mind, make undoubtedly the best coffee in Melbourne. Located in a very unassuming but intelligent position, A Minor Place offers both indoor and outdoor dining. The meals are fresh, organic and wonderfully tasty. The big breakfast is particularly impressive, especially after a big Saturday night. One of Melbourne's gold nuggets.
The Arden Motel is a fantastic place to stay if you don't want anything too fancy and just want a nice, clean, quiet place to stay. Rooms are on two levels, separated into two wings, and there are stairs for people staying on the upper floors. So people with wheelchairs would be advised to book a ground floor room, which you may have to do well in advance, as the Arden Motel is quite busy, particularly around the time that the Flower and Garden Show is on in Melbourne.
Pizza X-press is a great substitute for the likes of Domino's or Pizza hut, similar style and serving size, but cheaper. Also offers delivery. Think your friendly local pizza store.
The Grand Central Hotel dining room area is spotlessly clean. The menu is mainly good Aussie counter meals and the service is friendly and prompt. We ate here with a large group of people and found that our meals still came out promptly, and the majority of our group enjoyed their meals.
The Drums Hotel is a pokies/TAB venue, and as such is well tended to, clean and relatively quiet. The small beer garden is a very pleasant place to go for a beer after work and the wedges are fantastic. Not a place you would go to party, but definitely worth a visit if you have an hour up your sleeve.
Melbourne Indoor Paintball is located in a very handy position, easy to get to from most parts of town and that's about where the praise ends. The place is dirty, dark and has a very unenthusiastic atmosphere. Paintball itself is fun and though a little on the expensive side, it is a very enjoyable day out. The staff do well to make the games interesting, although i wonder whether their enthusiasm would be more highly rewarded if it were directed at the facilities upkeep and maintenance.
Happy Days is a little bit of a joke, considering it's suppose to be a 50's American rock and roll diner. The only thing American about it is the amount of oil that you find in your food. If you can put that aside, the portion sizes are large and the place is clean. The novel decor offers something out of the ordinary, the booth seating offers privacy and there are some interesting little novelties to hold your attention while you are waiting for your meal.
