This review is for Zambrero, Kelvin Grove QLD

Zambrero's is essentially a fast-food mexican outlet. It reminds me somewhat of Subway where you can customize your meal. They have beef, chicken or lamb options for meat filling as well as a vegetarian one. I had the beef and it was really nice with tender chunks of beef in a tasty sauce. I had a burrito and have often found with other mexican restaurants that they bulk it out with too much rice however there was just the perfect amount on this one, with some nice seasoning through it. There are 3 types of salsas you can choose from plus a large range of sauces. The menu ranges from burritos, chik-itos (smaller size burrito), bowl-itos (burrito without the wrap), hard and soft tacos, plus nachos and a chip and dip selection. Their nachos are really delicate because instead of using a 'traditional' corn chip, they use these little round, wafer-thin chips which are really light and work perfectly - much better than the thick normal corn chips. The serving sizes are large and I definitely walked away feeling full! All of the food was really fresh and I was definitely impressed with this place. Service is nice and fast too! If you've got a hankering for some quick mexican this is a great option.

This review is for Beastie Burgers, East Brisbane QLD

These burgers are so delicious!! What I really like about Beastie burgers is that there is such a great range of burgers to choose from. I always feel that if I am going to have a burger out I want it to be unique, something I wouldn't usually put together at home, and this is definitely what you get here. There are even a range of salads on the menu if you're not feeling like a burger. Their chips are rustic, real potato with the skin still on and so crispy, absolutely delicious. And I would thoroughly recommend their Lindt chocolate milkshake - seriously indulgent but well worth the calories! And even better, this all comes at a reasonable price! definitely recommend Beastie burgers to those who haven't visited there before.

This review is for Regatta Hotel, Toowong QLD

Renovations to the Regatta Hotel after the 2011 floods have elevated its standing in a venue for after work drinks and food. The trio of chips (wedges, fries and sweet potato chips) with 3 different sauces is delicious and great to share between friends over a drink as I did. Their garlic pizza is also very nice and is great value at a large size for only $7. The Regatta is a nice place to sit around and have a chat over a drink especially with the high tales, low seats and couches surrounding the fire. Definitely recommend for a quiet drink out with close friends

This review is for Flamingo Cafe, Fortitude Valley QLD

I came to the Flamingo Cafe for a lunch date with a friend. At first I was dubious about the price of the menu items ($6 for a toastie) but when our meals came out, I was pleasantly surprised. What my friend had thought was just a regular ham and cheese toastie in fact had thick, roast ham, the same as you would have at christmas with melted cheese and some sort of basil pesto spread on it. I had the soup special which was a spin on minestrone. It was hearty and filling, exactly what I wanted on the cold winter day. It also came with bread which I expected just to be toasted, perhaps garlic, but this came with cheese, spices, garlic and a whole mixture of things that lifted it to the next level. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and would definitely DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone. While their menu is not huge, what they do have is absolutely wonderful and is cooked and prepared to a very high standard.

This review is for Gloria Jeans, Chelmer QLD

verified email - 02 Aug 2012

The coffee from this Gloria Jeans outlet is good quality, it is obvious they've trained their baristas well. Price is typical however I find it annoying when long blacks cost the same or marginally less than milky coffees, as the cost of the ingredients is quite a bit less. This is a problem that I encounter at all cafes, not specifically to Gloria Jeans. The service here is always good with friendly staff and I always find it fast! They also have a great range of cakes, breads and other sweets to tempt your tastebuds!

This review is for Pure Indulgence, Indooroopilly QLD

I received a massage and facial when I visited Pure Indulgence at Indooroopilly. I found the ladies working there to be lovely and professional and while the services were good, they weren't amazing. What I did like was that you were given a form to fill out regarding your skin in terms of sensitivity and any problem areas. The treatment was then altered to suit your skin type and exactly what you want. I did enjoy my experience however they did not go above and beyond my expectations and did not leave me wanting to come back specifically to their business - I found it to be just another normal experience as you would get at any massage parlour or day spa.

I love the varying menu at the Pizza Cafe. They have a large menu, a different pizza for each letter of the alphabet in fact (they are labelled A-Z), which makes it both very difficult to decide which pizza you and very easy to order it! They offer a discount when you show your UQ student card which is very handy and at $12 for most pizza,s which are large, it is great value for money. I would definitely recommend the Pizza Cafe. Quick service too!

This review is for Morgans Seafood, Scarborough QLD

verified email - 01 Aug 2012

This is my childhood seafood eatery and it has only gotten better over time. They act as a 'fish and chip' shop with a varying range of seafood that they prepare and cook for you in addition to a wide range of fresh, raw seafood such as you would expect at a high-quality fish monger. This place is always busy and never fails to disappoint. Tables, shades and bins are provided and it is located next to a park, so it is the ideal place to take your own salad, bread, drinks, ANYTHING, for a big group to have a lovely relaxed meal together. Many a happy family and friend memory has been made here and while it is a little on the expensive side (averagw for seafood), it is well worth it!

This review is for Central Dental, Mount Gravatt QLD

I had an accident where I chipped the corners of two of my teeth. I was able to make an appointment to get this examined and fixed at very short notice, less than a week. At my appointment I didn't have to wait very long to see the dentist and when I did she was a very polite and well-spoken lady. She told me exactly what she was going to do, checked that I was comfortable for the entire procedure and gave good advice on foods I needed to avoid biting with those teeth. They subsidize Medibank Private health cover and my procedure was remarkably inexpensive compared with quotes from other dentists. I am extremely happy with the job that they did and it was done w such care for detail that you cannot tell at all that my teeth were chipped. I would very much recommend this dentist to others, as it provides excellent dentistry at a reasonable price.

This review is for Craft Restaurant And Bar, Milton QLD

I went to Craft Restaurant and Bar for lunch and while the meal was nice, it wasn't extraordinary. The menu is enticing and you can see that they're trying to re-vamp a lot of classics and translate them into a more upper class dining experience. I had the gourmet wagyu burger with shoestring fries and while the meat was lovely I found the whole meal to be very oily. They offer $15 lunch specials with mains pricing at about $30. My friend had the main eye fillet and said her meal was beautiful so there may be varying quality in their dishes depending on what you order. I do plan to dine here again however would probably make a conscious decision to choose a meal which would be a bit lighter.
