Spotlight always seems to offer what I need when it comes to art and craft. Some items are quite expensive but I find this is the case with all suppliers.
Recently I was looking for some craft items to headed to spotlight to see if they had what I needed. I spent a little while looking around and it was fairly quiet, so I was able to look without people pushing past or standing in the way.
Once I had found what I was looking for I headed to the registers. Usually when it is busy there is a queue and sometimes is not well staffed, which is frustrating, but this day I was greeted with a warm smile and what felt like an honest interest in me as a customer. She asked me whether I had found everything that I had needed and even made a joke with me.

Spotlight itself has alot of products and on a quiet day is recommended for your craft needs.

I recently was looking for some hair accessories for an outfit. The staff were relatively friendly asking if I needed help and not pressuring me by standing around, but I feel this is more to do with their attitude rather than staff actively being courteous etc.

Diva had a lot to choose from, not just hair accessories but other jewelery and accessories. The jewelery is fair to good quality and this is reflected in their pricing. I love the sales and there are always new products to browse through, for that perfect outfit accompaniment.

I have tried a number of different businesses around Ballarat for waxing and skin care and have found that Forever Skinfit is a really great quality place. You are always greeted with a smile and genuine interest in your personal life and what you have been up to.
I have never had to wait for an appointment and on arrival have always been ushered into the room, to lie on a clean and comfortable bed followed by a good session of skin care or waxing.

I would definitely recommend this place to people I know because they have always delivered on their promise and try to go beyond your expectations. The only downfall about this business is having to walk through a hair dressers to get to your destination, however the hairdressers are very friendly and are accustomed to people walking to the upstairs business.

I was given a voucher for a 1 hour make-up tutorial with the Napoleon team. I was given helpful tips and talked through the whole process of the makeup style I selected. From primer to foundation and eyeliner to eyeshadow. At the end I was able to redeem my voucher for products. I walked away feeling so glamorous and with a bag of goodies!

It was a fairly busy day there, so there were some distractions during my time. I am fairly easy going so it didn't bother me that much, but I can understand if someone is paying out of their own pocket how they would become annoyed.

The products used are high quality/professional which is reflected in their pricing. From the products I chose, they ranged from $30 - $80 depending on what it was. They have a good range and have something to suit everyone.

Vanilah offered me good service, a quality cut with professional hairdressers and a warm environment.

As expected the prices are slightly more than other hairdressers but they offer what I feel is a good service and clean environment, My experience was very good.

This review is for The Turret Cafe & Catering, Ballarat VIC

I have only eaten at 'The Turret' once and had a pretty good experience. They present as being very proper, modern and sophisticated. I felt a little out of place there only because I had not dressed to impress due to a late night previously and an early surprise breakfast outing from a friend.

The food was tasty and the prices were reasonable. I would suggest they look into their 'fresh squeezed orange juice' as the one I purchased seemed more like a watered down lemon juice, but the breakfast wrap was delicious.

I would suggest giving it a go and deciding for yourself..

Even though this place is always packed, they have quality brand name products at low prices and you can always find a bargain. They have cosmetics, perfume, a chemist, shampoo/conditioner, hair products, beauty products and more.

This review is for Leading Edge Computers, Ballarat VIC

Bad experience. After explaining my problems to the person I signed a form saying I would pay the minimum service fee of $77. After a few days I was called back, had the exact same problems quoted back to me, in basically my own words then told it would cost me close to $1k to fix the problem.

After telling them that I wouldn't be accepting their service I retrieved my goods only to be spoken down to by the staff and belittled in front of other customers. I had not provoked anything and was merely picking up my computer. I was appalled that I had been charged the minimum service fee when really all they did was tell me the same thing I already knew.

Upon further inspection of my computer it was quite clear that they had not inspected my item at all as the warranty sticker (no longer under warranty so it was void anyway), that housed the main screw for the backing plate, was untouched. I would LOVE to know how they diagnosed an internal problem without actually looking inside my computer?? PLUS pricing the service and part myself, it only came to $10 plus services. I have subsequently pulled the computer down myself, being a complete novice it took me a whole of 30minutes to disassemble my computer and fix the part. You fail to provide a service and try to get the most amount of money for the least amount of work. A bunch of young money hungry computer nerds trying to rip off people you think don't have a clue. Well done.

Having been to this trainee/apprenticeship salon a few times, I think that the overall quality of work is as expected. The employee's do their best, most of the time, however do not fully have the skills to give the BEST results possible. I have had experiences where they haven't cut my hair suitably or have coloured my hair with an average looking colour/mix, but other times they have hit the target. It is hit and miss at this store, but you pay for what you get & it gives the opportunity for some people to become great hairdressers one day.

This review is for KMart, Wendouree VIC

verified email - 07 Apr 2011

I have never had an issue with Kmart until the last few months where the service offered to me as a customer was sub par. I went into Kmart with a gift voucher and decided that I would use it up. When purchasing my items, I used up the voucher plus an additional $30 in cash. After taking my items home, I realized that my item had been put on the wrong hanger. The following day I returned to Kmart with my item and explained the situation. They refused to exchange the item as it was against 'health and safety regulations'. I hadn't tried these items on and explained this to them. Again they refused. I had another item which was also bought which did not suit the purpose for which I had bought it, and they then refused to give me the refund in cash! If they bothered to look at the receipt they would have realized it was the last thing bought and therefore would have been with the extra $30 cash and not the voucher. Please note* it is illegal to not give a refund in cash, if the item was paid for with cash.
I was so rushed by the employee that I had no other option than to take a store credit. Upon returning to Kmart a month or so later, I realized I still had the store credit that needed to be used, as I did not want to have money 'trapped' in a store credit that would eventually expire. After selecting the items that I wanted to purchase, the total was $20. The same person was working the cash register, who had previously refused to give me cash (I don't forget faces). She told me that I would have to use up all of the store credit at once. She then stood there staring at me and giving me no other option than to buy other products that I had no need for. When will Kmart realize that its about service for the customers and keeping them happy. Other large stores will try and offer some alternative however you have not followed suit. I will no longer be a consumer of your products. Bad service & one too many bad experiences.
