Over the last 18 months we have had 5 properties re carpeted by this business they have great prices on quality carpets having a wide selection of their everyday lines as well as assorted surplus lines on offer, fortunately for us they had great quality wool blend carpet on offer in color & amount we needed each time, for which we only paid the price of cheaper nylon (rental type) we had been quoted for at other retailers, this was a gr8 saving for us, and i love my new carpet in our home as well as, being pleased with the deal we got on the other properties.
Len the Manager was at all times helpful and courteous , & the carpet layers were fantastic as well, i could not recommend them more highly!

Petstock in Ballarat is great when it comes to prices especially sale times, & it is great that they offer member rewards cards, parking is fairly good and range is fantastic, however i have found customer service to be very bad over the years, it is always a matter of having to seek out a shop assistant after waiting around to be served for quite some time, as staff tend to hover around front service desk even whilst not noticably busy, most are pleasant enough when actually serving you though.

I have purchased several gifts of jewelery & unusual items from this store, some for myself as well i admit it!
It has a really nice relaxing atmosphere & something different every time i go, the prices i feel are very reasonable, being that you are getting something unusual from overseas.
There is as mentioned in other ratings, a cafe now added on by joining to a neighboring property, which was in fact a car yard at one point in history as i recall!
Don't let the outside appearance of the cafe building be off putting, as indoors it is lovely, & in keeping with the style & decore of the rest of IneXterior.

I have lived in Ballarat all my life and my first child hood pet came from the Ballarat Rspca, the shelter has changed & improved immensely since that 1st visit when i was 5 or 6! now 26 yrs later i have purchased both a adult cat & adult dog within the last 8 month's( about 4 month's between purchases).
The cat is an Angel and such a joy i can't imagine how at 5yrs old she came to be dumped!
The dog a small 18 month old terrier is a real character & has many undesirable habits to be unlearnt! (he was clearly badly abused by previous owners, sadly).
He contracted Kennel cough whilst in the pound but only displayed symptoms after coming home, this is a common illness that is an ongoing problem in all pounds, i rang the Rspca asap & was promptly sent to a lovely vet in Creswick rd who treated him & gave him a coarse of treatment, this was all covered by the RSPCA. The only thing i had to pay for was a coarse of medicine for my other elderly little dog, not costly & as a preventitive measure only.
At all times & visits I have found all staff & volunteers to be very helpful & nice, i dont at all envy their jobs as i find it heartbreaking everytime i go.
I agree that to a degree it is a business, but it is a much needed service in our community, it is difficult as they have only limited resources to work with & i understand all regional Rspca in Victoria. are governed by & dealt funding by Melbourne head office. So they often do it tougher than the big city Shelters.
I treasure the Pets I have now & have had in the past, its what they deserve. I wish everyone felt the same way, then perhaps these places would not need to euthanase so many dogs & cats every year.

I have been a pet store shopper in Ballarat for many years & frequented this store & the adjoining Aquarium store (next door), often over the last ten or so years,(fish store been there only 5yrs i think) I have pets requiring special needs food which most stores don't routinely stock, this store has ordered the product in for me at a reasonable cost whenever i have required it.
The customer service has always been genuinely friendly ,honest, knowledgeable & helpful.
The range is somewhat restrictive because both stores a really too small for what they try to fit in, however i have found that the overall prices are very competitive especially on large items ie: tanks, bulk food, dog beds. compared with the larger Ballarat pet stores.
